Terms and Conditions

Last updated 25 July 2026

PurrPad is software published by Francesco Pavanetto, a sole proprietor based in Italy ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@purrpad.app. These terms cover your use of the PurrPad application and the purrpad.app website.

What PurrPad is

PurrPad is a macOS menu bar application that drives your Mac's haptic trackpad so that it vibrates in the pattern of a cat's purr. It requires macOS 14 or later and a Force Touch trackpad. A free version is available with one purr preset and all behaviour features. A one time payment unlocks the remaining presets, the recording feature, the tuning controls and the collection view.

Buying a licence

Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited, which acts as the Merchant of Record and the seller for your purchase. Your contract of sale for the licence is therefore with Paddle, and Paddle's own buyer terms apply to the transaction. Paddle is responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT.

A purchase grants you a personal, non exclusive, non transferable licence to use the paid features of PurrPad on Macs that you own or control. The licence does not expire and does not renew. There is no subscription.

Licence keys are verified offline on your own machine. Please do not publish or share your key: doing so is the one thing that would push us toward stricter checks that punish everyone.

What you may not do

You are welcome to inspect, disassemble and study the application for your own interest and for security research, and to tell us what you find.

Updates

Updates are provided at our discretion and are currently free. The application can check purrpad.app for a newer version; this check can be switched off inside the app, and no personal data is sent when it runs.

No warranty

PurrPad is provided "as is". It drives an undocumented Apple interface, so a future macOS release may change or remove the behaviour it depends on. We make no guarantee that the software will keep working on future versions of macOS or on hardware we have not tested. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

It is not a medical device

PurrPad is entertainment software. Research about the effects of real purring, referenced on our website, concerns actual cats and is not a claim about this application. PurrPad does not diagnose, treat or prevent anything.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using PurrPad at any time by deleting it. We may end this licence if you materially breach these terms, for example by distributing cracked keys.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. Material changes will be noted on this page.
