Privacy Policy
Short version: the PurrPad application collects nothing about you. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no account, and no server of ours that knows you exist.
The application
Data collected: none. Your chosen cat, your settings, any cats you record and anything the cat has left on your shelf are stored in a preferences file on your own Mac. They are never transmitted.
Record Your Cat. Audio is captured only while you are actively recording, analysed on your machine to extract frequency and rhythm, and then discarded. The recording is never uploaded, never stored permanently and never leaves your Mac.
Licence keys are verified offline using cryptography built into the app. Activating a licence involves no network request of any kind.
The one network request. If enabled, the app fetches a small file from purrpad.app to see whether a newer version exists. That request carries no identifier, no account and no usage data; like any web request our host sees the connecting IP address, which we do not use to build profiles and do not join to anything else. The check can be switched off in the app, after which the application makes no network connections at all.
The website
purrpad.app is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) for security and reliability.
We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which tells us how many people visited and which pages they read. It sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device. It records the page, the referring site, country, device type and browser; a repeat visit within a single day is recognised by a hash that is discarded and regenerated daily, so nothing follows you from one day to the next, or from this site to any other. We set no advertising cookies, use no third party trackers, and sell or share none of it. The two pages whose address can carry a purchase reference, the licence key page and the admin page, are excluded from it entirely.
That is the website. The application sends nothing at all, as described above, and contains no analytics code of any kind.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited as Merchant of Record. When you buy, you provide your details to Paddle, not to us, and Paddle's privacy notice governs that data. We can see order records associated with our account, including your email address and country, which we use only to deliver your licence key and to answer support questions.
If you write to hello@purrpad.app we keep the message so we can reply and so we remember the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list; there is no mailing list.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold, and may complain to your local data protection authority. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is your email address and a purchase record. Write to hello@purrpad.app and we will act on it.
Children
PurrPad is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including them.
